“The Art of Reading” – Samuel Rodriguez
Samuel Rodríguez Medina is a professor of Art, Culture, and Film at Tec de Monterrey, and Art Contemporary Museum MARCO. He is the author of five books of short stories and art theory published in Mexico and Argentina. His exhibitions on art and literature, and art and film, have been presented in countries such as the USA, Spain, and Brazil at prestigious institutions including the Cervantes Institute in São Paulo, Brazil; the Buñuel Center in Calanda, Spain; the University of Texas at El Paso; and the International Museum of Art (IMAS). He directs the collective of Mexican artists who will present the exhibition “The Art of Reading” at UTRGV, which features paintings, collages, and photographs of great works of literature throughout history. He has received numerous awards for educational excellence from his university and awards for art and poetry from different prestigious institutions.
The Art of Reading” by Samuel Rodriguez comprises of powerful works by over 20 talented international artists, expressing their love of literature through art. Join our opening reception: Thursday, January 22nd at 6pm here at the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex Lobby. Free admission and light refreshments will be served!
