Step back in time and fly like the heroes of the Greatest Generation during our Fly the Warbirds in Weslaco event! Hosted at the Mid-Valley Airport, this one-day-only experience offers the rare opportunity to take the controls of two iconic warbird aircraft during an unforgettable 20-minute flight. Visit the airport on 10/4 from 0900-1500 for static displays, cockpit tours and conversations with pilots to learn about the unique aircraft and the various restoration efforts used to preserve and keep history flying.

✈️ The PT-17 Stearman Experience- $350
Take flight in a fully restored 1943 PT-17 Stearman biplane, the same model used to train WWII military pilots. Join your instructor for a hands-on pre-flight inspection and learn about the history of this legendary trainer. Then, climb aboard, feel the roar of the radial engine, and take the controls as you soar over the Rio Grande Valley.

🛩 The U-18 Navion Experience – $100 per person, 2-person minimum
Fly in a 1947 U-18 Navion, a post-war aircraft built by North American Aviation—the same company behind the P-51 Mustang. This Korean War vet offers an exciting mix of speed, style, and history. You’ll learn about its military service before hopping in for your 20-minute flight. Bring a friend and share the experience—pricing is per seat with a two-passenger minimum.

Cameras are welcome, just make sure they’re secured—you don’t want them flying away!

Maximum weight is 300 lbs per passenger.
Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled flight time.
What to wear: A T-shirt is fine in warmer months, but bring a light jacket in case it gets chilly up there. Sunglasses are also highly recommended!
